| On 7th Sept, 2007 a cultural event 'AAGAZ'
was organized to hunt for talent among students. It comprised
of fine arts, folk arts, technical events, literary events
etc. Activities like debates, extempore speeches, dumb
charades, creative writing etc were organized. Fine Arts
and Folk Arts events like rangoli, mehandi, naara making,
pakhi decoration, embroidery etc were organized. The judges
were Prof. Indra Bhatia Ex-Principal of Govt. College
for Boys, Prof.Saini, Ex Head, Dept. of Dance, Govt. College
for women, Prof. jasbir Makkar, Head, Dept. of Music,
Govt. College and Prof. Jaspreet Khurana of Dept. of Fine
Arts, Govt. College for Women. The following day i.e.
8th Sept, 2007 a cultural function 'AAGMAN' was organized
by senior students to welcome the new students to the
institute. A cultural extravaganza which included a fashion
show as a highlight, captivated the audience. S.
Bikramjit Singh Khalsa, Chief Parliamentary Secretary;
Technical Education was the chief guest on the occasion.
He appreciated the show and also inaugurated the MBA classes
in the institute. The judges at the institute. The judges
at the fashion show were Prof. Rupa Bakshi from PAU, Ldh
and Prof. Usha Gupta from KVM, Ldh. Dr Vijay Asdhir, Director
of the Institute and member of the management appreciated
the performance of students in the cultural function |

As a part of the ongoing college celebrations
of Khalsa Dewan, the institute organized an International
Conference in association with Punjab Commerce and Management
Association on 'Globalization of Indian Business' on 8th
and 9th Dec'07. Dr. J. Sadakkatulla, Regional Director,
Reserve Bank of India was the chief guest on the occasion.
He inaugurated the conference and said India needed to
develop and said India needed to develop a work culture
to compete in the world. He also added that China has
developed a cost edge manufacturing hub and its products
are sold all over the world. India can grow more in service
and IT sector. Dr Vijay Asdhir, Director of KIMT, welcomed
all the guests and motivated them to deliver their papers
in the conference. Around 50 speakers from all over Punjab
presented their papers.
Dr. S.C. Vaidya, Chairman, University Business School,
PU, was the keynote speaker. He laid emphasis on the meaning
of Globalization and the increasing interdependence, integration
and integration and interaction among people. Mr. Bruce
Oro, Adjunct Professor of Accountancy and Finance from
Thompsons Rivers University, Canada, delivered a guest
lecture on the occasion. Others who graced the occasion
included Dr. S.P. Singh, former Dean at PU, Dr. B.S. Bhatia,
Director General, RIMT, Dr. Sanjay Modi, Dean Business
School, LPU, Dr. Parvinder Arora from IMT Gaziabad, Sh.
D.L. Sharma, President of the Vardhman group, Dr. S.B.
Singh, Ex. Principal, G.N. Engg. College and Dr. Sandeep
Kapoor, Dept. of Buss. Mgmt., PAU. President PCMA Dr.
Prem Kumar spoke about the opening of the Indian economy
and the participation of the Indian government in various
international economic treaties, which had given new opportunities
to Indian businesses. After the discussion there were
technical sessions conducted by Dr. S.P. Singh, former
Dean Faculty of Business Management, PU Chandigarh, Dr.
Parvinder Arora from IMT, Ghazizbad Tejinder Sharma from
Kurukshetra University as per Prof. Ashwini Bhalla, General
Secy. of PCMA. The main issues discussed were the ways
to transform Indian business scenario and the problems
faced by business due to the international policies and
treaties.
Dr. Vijay Asdhir, Director, Director, KIMT said that the
discussion in the conference had come out with concrete
results and hopefully shall guide the industry and business
to find a comfortable momentum to route Indian economy
on the development path. Er. P.P.S Grewal, President,
Dr. S.S. Grewal, Vice President, KIMT, Sh. S.S. Deol,
Secretary, Sh. G.S. Grewal, Treasurer also graced the
occasion. |

Radiance'08 |

| The dazzling cultural fiesta "Radiance"
kicked off at KIMT on 31st Jan, 08. Chief Parliamentary
Secretary, Mr. Harish Rai Dhanda and his wife Mrs. Vijay
Rai Dhanda graced the occassion as chief guests. Around
300 students from 15 colleges in and around Ludhiana participated
in 18 events during "Radiance 2008". The ehighlight
of the programme was dance to the tune, rangoli, mehandi,
collage making, pakhi decoration, creative writing, declamation,
quiz and solo song. The students of different colleges
displayed their scintillating talents which was an amalgamation
of vibrant music and rhythmic steps. The students of MCA
and BCA performed 'western dance' adding glitter to the
function. MBA, MCA and BCA students concluded the function
by performing the punjabi folk dance "Gidha".
The overall trophy was won by Satish Chander Dhawan Govt.
College for Boys, Ludhiana. |
